Google announced that it is testing prototypes of augmented reality glasses in public places Some prototypes will look like regular glasses and feature microphones and cameras as well as transparent displays. The device has an LED backlight that turns on when the glasses record image data. Google says the glasses will not record video or take photos so users can save and view them later, but they can use the image data to perform functions such as identifying objects or showing the direction of the road. The new glasses are not yet an official company product and are not available to the public, but Google wants to test applications such as real-time translation or showing road direction to users through the glasses' lenses, especially in places like busy intersections.

No word on pricing or available options. The Pixel 3 was the company's last flagship in India. Pixel 3a, Pixel 4a and the recently released Pixel 6a were also sold in that country. The release of the latter device in the Indian market seems to mark the company's return to this country after a long break.
